Girl in the Cellar
The Natascha Kampusch Story
The Natascha Kampusch Story
This book, which was published in 2006 – just a few months after Mrs Kampusch’s “escape” – caused a great deal of indignation among the terribly nice family!
The authors relied primarily on (paid) interviews with Natascha’s father, Mr Koch. They also wanted me to revise the manuscript, but I refused. When I read the book later, I sometimes had the feeling that I was reading pages and pages of my own.
The height of impertinence, however, was that Mr Koch’s “media advisor” announced in an “APA” report that Mr Koch had never given an interview and that he didn’t even know the co-author Leidig. The good man was finally sued by Mr Leidig – and convicted. Of course, this was little consolation, as there was no money to be had from the bankrupt “consultant”. Where there is nothing, the emperor has lost the right.
